About Melissa M. Hower
Attachment Coach, Integrative Attachment Therapy Trainee, and Ideal Parent Figure Protocol Facilitator.
Working with clients in Boston, MA and worldwide via secure online sessions.
Hi, I’m Melissa M. Hower. I’m an Attachment Coach, Integrative Attachment Therapy Trainee, and Mettagroup-Method trained Ideal Parent Figure Protocol Facilitator.
I work with thoughtful, therapy-savvy adults who are ready to heal their attachment style at the root, not just manage symptoms.
My work focuses on helping you develop emotional regulation, internalize a felt sense of embodied safety, and build deeper, more secure connections with yourself and others.
Over time, this work often expands your capacity for joy, clarity, and choice in how you explore and relate, rather than staying stuck in old attachment patterns.
I offer Attachment Coaching through secure online sessions for clients in Boston, across the U.S., and internationally.
How I Work
Attachment Coaching with Ideal Parent Figures
My approach is strongly influenced by the Mettagroup-Method of Ideal Parent Figure Protocol facilitation, which intentionally moves away from hierarchical power dynamics. Instead, attachment repair is approached as a collaborative mentorship where you are treated as an equal participant in your own healing.
Human beings are complex, and ethical attachment coaching requires discernment, especially when working with trauma histories or experiences of abuse. For this reason, and to ensure my approach is trauma informed, I train with and receive ongoing supervision with both clinical and non-clinical leaders in the field of attachment repair.
Next Steps
If you are ready to move beyond coping strategies and toward real, embodied change, I invite you to get in touch. Healing attachment is possible, and you do not have to do it alone.

What It’s Like to Work With Me
Clients often share that the collaborative alliance we build in Ideal Parent Figure sessions feels different from other therapeutic experiences they’ve had. To that I bring groundedness, warmth, humor, and a deep respect for the drive to heal.
At the core of my work is a deep commitment to meet clients exactly where they are. If your imagination goes somewhere unexpected, that’s welcome. If sessions feel stuck at times, I will thoughtfully review our work and look for new points of entry when we meet again. If you worry the process will be too intense, we move slowly and at your pace. You are never pushed, analyzed, or pathologized. We work with what is already present, building safety from the inside out.
Who I Often Work With
I am particularly familiar with and sensitive to the experiences of people who:
Are healing from addiction or family systems shaped by addiction
Identify as neurodivergent
Are part of the LGBTQIA+ community
Live in non-traditional family or nonmonogamous relationship structures
These identities are not requirements. Many clients simply find relief in working with an Attachment Coach who understands these experiences firsthand.
Practical Details
I work online and offer sessions Monday through Friday from 5:00am to 3:00pm Eastern, with limited evening and weekend availability.
My individual session rate is $200 for a 50 minute session. Group sessions are $50 for 60 minutes and require an eight session commitment. Please reach out for current group availability and details.

My Path to Attachment Coaching
I come from a long lineage shaped by addiction, the fourth generation on my mother’s side. For much of my life, I lived with intense emotional flooding and overwhelm. Even with insight, self reflection, and effort, my nervous system stayed locked in old, unhelpful patterns.
Within the first few months of doing my own work with the Ideal Parent Figure Protocol, those patterns resolved in a way I had not experienced before. I remember George Haas saying during a Level One Attachment Meditation course, “The difference between disorganized and secure attachment is night and day.” That quickly became my lived experience.
That shift is what led me to become an Attachment Coach. I now support others in healing their attachment style through direct, embodied attachment repair, rather than advice, analysis, or coping strategies alone.
